Bear Loves to Sun Bathe

There’s nothing more mellow than watching Bear getting a lil’ Vitamin D into his soul. It’s what keeps him going during those late night carpet hunting ‘n blanket raging sessions.

I hope every kitty out there gets to do a bit of  that bear style bathing.

I feel sleepy just thinking about it.

Emo Cat Dreams

I woke up this morning and after puttering around the house, shaking Bear’s food dish and preparing my own dish or several dishes for the upcoming work day, I remembered a dream I had. Fyi- Bear was adopted at the Humane society Feb.20th 2009, he’s my Partner’s cat technically but I’m freakin’ emo for the dude. Oh and he has kitty HIV (FIV), possibly from sharing needles on the streets.

The dream was this- Dani (the partner) and I were sleeping when she proclaimed with excitement that Bear was performing overhead shoulder presses on the floor in front of us. I was so proud that my big guy was taking his health into his own hands. It’s not enough to just sit around waiting for “milky” or sleeping in the sun room, you gotta hustle sometimes and that may be in the form of shoulder presses.

As I write this and after a long sleep at the foot of our bed, Bear is asleep in the sunroom again…wait I’m mistaken, he’s up!

I love you buddy, thanks for being sweet even in my dreams.

Richard crosses his legs and relaxes on the couch

Richard watching TV

This is Richard watching his favourite TV show Cagney and Lacey.

Richard goes to work

Richard Gets Stuff Done During The Day

Richard is has some pretty interesting habits. My favourite being the random objects he moves around during the day while the wife and I are making dollars. I call his behaviour “work.”

Richard’s work usually consists of grabbing a tea towel and his blanket and leaving them in the middle of the living room floor or somewhere in the bedroom. To him, that’s an honest day’s work where he feels like he’s earned his keep.

Other work he enjoys on a semi regular basis: flipping over two pillows on the couch and dragging a small head rest pillow we got as a gift with purchase into the bedroom. If he’s feeling like a tough test, he’ll even pull one of our blankets from the arm of the couch into the middle of the floor.

I guess it’s his “thing.” Afterall, we all have to pay bills and so does Richard (yeah, I charge him rent). Plus, he enjoys it so he might as well make some money doing something he loves.

This Wednesday, Richard put in some serious overtime. The wife called it a “Richard Disaster Zone.” I like to call it interior decorating, cat style. Here’s the list of the tasks he performed:

  • Moved the tea towel from the stove to in front of the TV
  • Pawed nail polish from the counter to the ground
  • Moved a pair of socks from the bedroom to the rug in the living room
  • Flipped both pillows on the couch
  • Moved one of my hoodies from a folded pile to in front of the bed
  • Moved the head rest pillow from the couch to in front of the bed (he set a new record for pillow dragging distance with this pull)
  • Moved another pair of socks from one side of the bed to the other

Richie worked hard and managed to make his best arrangement yet.

Nice job buddy. You have a true talent!

If my cat Richard Dunn ever dies…

I’ll be just as emo as this guy.
